In 2013, Fede Alvarez did the unthinkable: rebooted Sam Raimi's beloved The Evil Dead series with a new cast and modern tone. The result was awe-inspiring and has become an instant classic in every horror connaseur's library. Evil Dead focuses on Mia, a drug addict who is determined to kick her habit. In order to have the ultimate detox, she asks her estranged brother and three friends to accompany her to their family's remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. As her withdrawals worsen, they soon discover something evil is lurking in the woods around them and will stop at nothing to eat their souls. There will be blood. There will be guts. And there will be chainsaws.
