ABOUT ABOUT

EAST COAST PREMIERE

The fear of witchcraft runs rampant in the Alps of 15th century Austria. Surrounded by heightened paranoia and superstition, a young goatherd named Albrun and her Mother residing in the woods hold tight to their sanity during the cold snowy winter. The darkness of the time proves more potent and persistent than she could have ever imagined as it follows Albrun into her adulthood. A mother now herself, an evil presence is threatening her and her infant child. But is this ancient malevolence an outside force or a product of her psychosis? With stunningly gorgeous photography and atmosphere for days, Lukas Fiegelfeld’s gothic horror fever dream (and film school thesis!) illustrates the dangers associated with dark beliefs and the infestation of fear. —Joseph Hernandez
